The following theme can be used either for your own personal practice, or for your group classes or one ones that you are teaching. Everything below is just a guide based on my thoughts and experiences in the moment. Theme: Stand with Pride
Physical Focus: This class is all about the power poses. Offer different variations of Warrior 1 and 2. Poses that make us feel strong.
Pranayama: Breath of Fire (try opening the class with this breath to really kick things up)
Yama/Niyama: Santosha (contentment) happy with who we are.
Chakra: 3rd Chakra/Solar Plexus – Personal Power
Mudra: No fear, palm open with arm outstretched
Think of something you’ve personally done or accomplished in your life that you are proud of. Remember that feeling now, cultivating it in your heart. Honour that feeling, you deserve this feeling. You worked hard for your accomplishments. We spend so much time looking forward to the next thing that we often forget to look back at how far we’ve come.
A great opportunity to practice one of my favourite poses: Tadasana or TADA..sana Mountain Pose. A pose in itself that is so often overlooked as unimportant. However, this is where the real Yoga happens. When we stand tall and strong like a mountain, feeling our dynamic energy and connected to Self, all the magic is right there.
