The following theme can be used either for your own personal practice, or for your group classes or one on ones that you are teaching. Everything below is just a guide based on my thoughts and experiences in the moment. Theme: Embrace Change
Physical Focus: Try poses you haven’t taught for a while or try something new that is challenging.
Pranayama: 3-part breath
Mudra: No fear, palm open with arm outstretched
Mantra: Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya
Om and salutations to the indwelling one, substance of the divine.
(this mantra is a reference to Krishna’s light and love that exists within in all of us, keeping us safe through life’s many trials and tribulations)
Look for the comfort inside discomfort. Notice what happens when you move out of your comfort zone, where does your mind go? Notice how you can regulate this with your breath.
Focus cues around non-attachment and surrender. Deborah Adele’s book: Yamas and Niyamas has many references and stories that you can read through practice or meditation
Remember that all things change, use parallels to the weather. Trust the process
